| An adjective is a word that modifies a noun by describing it in some way: shape, color and size. Adjectives in French agree in gender (masculine [m.], feminine [f.]) and number (singular [s.], plural [pl.]) with the nouns that they modify. | |
| For regular adjectives the masculine form is the base form to which endings are added. The feminine adjective is formed by adding an e. The masculine plural of adjectives is formed by adding s. The feminine plural of adjectives is formed by adding an es. | |
